Is the honeymoon over?

It is easy to get stuck in a rut with events that are held regularly. Year after year, the speakers may change but the overall vibe of your event stays the same. Sometimes it is good to take a step back, evaluate your event and ask yourself how to keep the honeymoon going with your attendees?

You know the honeymoon with your attendees is over when your attendee retention rates start dropping. The worst thing to happen to an event is for attendees to see your event as pointless and not attend again. Attendee retention is vital for any event, since it requires a lot of resources to get new attendees.

Most events focus on getting the right speakers and having the right content. Content and speakers are great, but is it enough to keep your attendees interested enough to come back? Remember that every event should have a 'wow-factor'. Think about what kind of feature your attendees will be in awe of at your event. Is it a performance or a surprise appearance by a key figure?

An exciting speaker can be enough to draw in people, but it might not be enough to get them to return. In the guide below you will learn more about event lifecycle and how to manage it.
