Regular slush tends be something that leaves you cold, but Slush the event will definitely not leave you out in the cold!
What is Slush all about?
Slush is the focal point for startups and tech talent to meet with top-tier international investors. Last year Slush brought together 14 000 attendees and more than 3 500 companies for the two-day event. More than 750 investors came to Helsinki to meet startups in nearly 3 800 pre-booked meetings.
In addition to getting startups in touch with investors, Slush provides interesting speakers from different fields and from all parts of the world. This year Slush will have speakers like Bracken Darell (CEO of Logitech), Caterine Fake (Founder of Flickr) and Sean Carney (Head of Design at Phillips) and many many more!
Another highlight of the event is the Slush 100 competition where chosen startups get to pitch their idea during the first day. The 20 best ideas will go on to the semi-finals and the final four will pitch in the afternoon on the second day. Last year the winner won an equity investment of 500 000 euros made by Evli Bank and an angel investor syndicate gathered by the Finnish Business Angel Network.
Since Slush is a huge event, organising it is no one man show. Slush is a non-profit event organised by a community of entrepreneurs, investors, students and music festival organisers. The core event organising team consists of 15 persons and in addition to that there are thousands of volunteers helping with the set-up of the event and a group of hundreds of subcontractors.
Last year we chose the three hottest startups from Slush and we can't wait to see what this year has in store!
